very safeZaragoza is Spain's 5th largest city and a mid-sized, safe destination. The old city (Pilar Cathedral area, El Tubo) is safe and lively. Avoid the Delicias suburban district at night (the main railway station is fine but the surrounding streets are rougher). Emergency: 112, 091 (police).
Women travellers
Zaragoza is safe for solo women. El Tubo (old town bar district), El Gancho neighbourhood, and the Las Fuentes riverfront are well-populated and safe. Get a tram or taxi from the Delicias train station area at night.
