very safeWindsor is a small, extremely safe royal town. Crime rates are among the lowest in the Thames Valley. The main risks are pickpockets in the queue for Windsor Castle and on the Long Walk on busy summer weekends — keep bags zipped. Traffic on Windsor High Street and Peascod Street can be chaotic on Royal event days (Trooping the Colour, Ascot) — plan extra time. The Thames Path and Home Park are safe to walk but isolated after dark. Eton town across the river is equally safe. Emergency: 999.
