Valletta travel guide

Valletta is Europe's smallest capital and a UNESCO World Heritage Site built by the Knights of St. John in the 16th century. This entire walled city is a fortress, featuring baroque architecture, honey-colored limestone buildings, stunning harbor views, and a surprisingly vibrant dining and nightlife scene. Malta offers history, beaches, and year-round sunshine.

very safe

Valletta is exceptionally safe. Malta has one of the EU's lowest crime rates. Tourists face virtually no risk beyond occasional opportunistic petty theft in highly crowded festival areas. Standard city caution — be aware in crowds, keep bags secured — is all that is required.

Women travellers

Very safe island nation. Paceville (nightlife area) is lively but safe.
