Safety
safePisa's historic centre (Piazza dei Miracoli / Campo dei Miracoli) is very safe but extremely touristy. Main risk is the surrounding streets after dark — Pisa beyond the Piazza dei Miracoli is a real working city and the station area has occasional petty crime. Keep bags secured when photographing the Leaning Tower. Avoid the Borgo Stretto at 3am. Emergency: 118, 113.
