safeGranada is safe and one of Andalusia's most rewarding cities. The Albaicín (Moorish quarter on the hill opposite the Alhambra) is safe by day and magical at dusk but can feel isolated after midnight — take a taxi back down. Around the Alhambra queues, pickpockets target distracted tourists. La Caleta and peripheral housing are outside the tourist zone. Emergency: 112 (universal Spain), 091 (police), 062 (Guardia Civil).
