Safety
moderate-highFrankfurt am Main is very safe overall. Sachsenhausen (south of the river, Apfelwein quarter) and the Westend are completely safe and excellent. The Bahnhofsviertel (red-light district near the train station) is the main caution area — it has been partly gentrified but some streets remain rough. No tourist needs to go there. The financial district and Römerberg square are pristine. Emergency: 110 (police), 112 (ambulance/fire).
