Dresden travel guide

Dresden, the "Florence of the Elbe," was devastated in World War II but has been magnificently rebuilt. Its baroque old town showcases stunning architecture including the Frauenkirche, Zwinger Palace, and the largest porcelain mural in the world. A cultural gem in eastern Germany with exceptional museums, beautiful riverfront, and gateway to Saxon Switzerland.

Be aware of occasional political demonstrations — Dresden has an active far-right scene and some protest marches occur, particularly in February. Check local news during your visit. Emergency: 110 (police), 112 (ambulance/fire).
