The main concerns are: driving on narrow country lanes (unmarked and without barriers at edges — use passing places, go slow); rural walks require proper footwear as paths get very muddy after rain; some footpaths are not well-signposted — download Ordnance Survey maps before setting out. Isolated farm areas can have poor phone signal. Farm equipment on roads in harvest season (Aug–Sept) — drive carefully. Car break-ins at scenic viewpoint car parks (Bourton-on-the-Water, Bibury) — do not leave valuables visible. Emergency: 999.
