highCologne is safe and welcoming. The Cathedral quarter (Altstadt-Nord), Belgian Quarter, and Ehrenfeld are all great to explore. Cologne Central Station area requires vigilance — it is busy and has had incidents around the station square on busy nights (notably during large events). Keep bag zipped on the trains. Emergency: 110 (police), 112 (ambulance/fire).
