very safeCapri island is exceptionally safe — virtually no crime. The main danger is the steep, narrow pedestrian paths — Via Krupp and the path to Villa Jovis involve exposed cliff-edge walking with no barriers in places. Wear sensible footwear. The sea around the Blue Grotto has boat traffic — swimming there is prohibited. Capri town centre is traffic-free and completely safe at all hours. Emergency: 118, 112.
