safeBelfast has transformed from a conflict city to one of the UK's most welcoming tourist destinations. Since the Good Friday Agreement (1998) the city centre is very safe. Cathedral Quarter, Victoria Square, Titanic Quarter, and the Golden Mile (Great Victoria Street) are safe day and night. The Titanic Museum area is well-patrolled. Be mindful during the Orange Order Marching Season (July 12 and surrounding weeks) — avoid interface areas between loyalist and nationalist communities during parades as tensions can flare. The Falls Road (republican) and Shankill Road (loyalist) murals tours are safe with guides but stay with the tour group. Emergency: 999.
