very safeThe Amalfi Coast road (SS163) is the main hazard — take the SITA bus rather than driving. Hiking trails (Path of the Gods, Valle delle Ferriere) require sturdy footwear. Amalfi, Positano, Ravello, and Praiano towns are all very safe. Peak summer is extremely crowded. Emergency: 118, 113, 1530 (coast guard).
